Fort Leonard Wood Cabins
This project involved the takeover and completion of six log cabins, along with key site infrastructure improvements, on a constrained site adjacent to an active public boat ramp. To minimize disruption during peak usage, construction was carefully scheduled across four 10-hour shifts, Monday through Thursday.
Work began with selective demolition and re-grading of the 0.97-acre site to establish proper drainage. Improvements included the installation of storm drainage structures and piping, construction of swales, and replacement of an existing headwall. Structural elements featured cast-in-place concrete and segmented concrete masonry unit (CMU) retaining walls. Additional enhancements included concrete steps and sidewalks, metal railings, aggregate paving, and site restoration with topsoil, sod, and seed. The project was completed with final cabin punch list items, along with pressure washing and re-staining of all cabin exteriors, delivering a cohesive and finished product.
